Day 20 praying for election, 20 more to go.

PRAYING6Strengthen us by the power of Your Spirit.

The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer. (Psalm 6:9)

Dear Lord we praise You. We love You Lord.  O Lord our God, You are the wellspring of all that is.  You are the sea on which we float.  You are the wind that fills our sails. You are the storm that buffets us. You are the calm that brings us peace.

Father please forgive our nation. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown, but we have forgotten You, O’ God. It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended powers, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness. We have sinned against You. We have sown to the wind and are reaping the whirlwind of crime, drug abuse, racism, immorality, and social injustice. We need to repent of our sins and turn by faith to you. Forgive us when we do things that displease You and separate us from Your presence.

Lord, we thank you for hearing our petitions.  We thank you for blessing us beyond reason. We thank You for Your almighty grace.

Open our ears to hear Your word, O’God.  Open our eyes to see Your beauty, Lord. Open our hearts to be warmed by Your love.  Fill us with Your Spirit, Lord. Strengthen us by the power of Your Spirit to live in a way that glorifies You.

We pray for our election in 20 days, dear Lord. Father, we ask for leaders who adhere to the original intent of our founding documents and their many connections to Your principles.  We pray today for a true understanding of justice according to Your word.  We ask for Your intercession to encourage, strengthen, and protect those who honor and follow You.  We ask for leadership that will follow our constitutional principles rather than following a pre-chosen outcome.  We ask, Lord, for awareness in our country that the words, “separation of church and state” are found nowhere in any of our founding documents. We ask, Father, that you would turn the hearts of our politicians and leaders toward You. We ask that You soften their hearts and recognize and receive the truth, O’God.  We ask that You grant them the understanding and knowledge that come from the fear of You.  We ask for God-fearing leaders.  We ask that You grant them wisdom and ask that You direct their hearts to do Your will.

Lead us each day, Lord that we as a nation will live lives that are pleasing to You. May You forever be praised. We ask all this through Jesus Christ, AMEN.
